Acqua di Parma Colonia

I got my first bottle of Acqua Di Parma - Colonia at Tangs Dept Store around 1 or 2 years back. I've always like using it for evening time or formal events. It has this masculine smell which is not light but also not too much. The smell I must say, is what a Man needs. It's good and unique. =) Very well recommended.

Well anyway, now they sell it too at Takashimaya Dept Store. This is my second bottle now, and it's one of the essential's that I will always have to have. =)

Anyway here's a little story regarding Acqua di Parma from Sephora :

BEHIND THE BRAND
Originating in 1916, Acqua di Parma is nearly a scentury old.

Its fascinating history began in a small perfume factory in Parma, Italy, a city of enviable culture, tradition, and sophistication. At the time of Acqua di Parma's birth, all of the dominating fragrances were strong, aggressive, and very complex in their composition. So when the brand introduced Colonia, a light, fresh, and clean scent that appealed to both men and women, it was both a timely and welcome alternative. By the 1930s, the cologne had become so popular that its production had to be increased in order to meet the market's demands. And during that time Colonia became
the perfume of choice for men and women of discerning taste and sophisticated elegance, Hollywood's biggest names included.

In the 1990s, determined to safeguard an Italian classic and a stately brand of unrivalled quality, tradition, and craftsmanship, three prominent Italian entrepreneurs relaunched Acqua di Parma's traditional Colonia scent. They also created a sophisticated line of luxury lifestyle items, which included handcrafted leather goods, handmade perfumed candles, and rich terrycloth bathrobes and towels. To house all of the new offerings, the brand opened its first boutique in the exclusive Via del Gesù in Milan, the center of the fashion world. In 2001, Acqua di Parma was acquired by the world's foremost producer and distributor of luxury goods—LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

While the label continues to reside at the forefront of beauty and fashion, Acqua di Parma also holds true to its original roots and production practices: the essence is still distilled entirely by hand, and the packaging is still hand designed and crafted by skilled craftsmen and experts using the same tried and true methods as in the past.

Acqua di Parma's fans include famous international celebrities, style mavens, and world leaders seeking to indulge in Acqua di Parma's coveted "way of life"—a lifestyle of elegance and understated sophistication that will always complement a classic-yet-contemporary cosmopolitan customer.
